The Nuremberg Trial was established by 
the Allied Powers to prosecute those responsible for the Third Reich. It opened on 20 November 1945 and was the first four-language trial in history – interpreted in English, French, Russian and German at a time when simultaneous interpretation was still in its infancy.
This exhibition, which for the first time features the four trial languages, is dedicated to those who facilitated communication in the courtroom. Come and meet the interpreters who accomplished a mammoth undertaking and who laid the foundations for simultaneous interpretation.
