AIIC Switzerland recognizes the importance of your privacy and of processing your personal data in a transparent manner.

AIIC Switzerland collects the personal data which you provide.

3.1       AIIC Switzerland collects, directly or indirectly via its partners, the personal data you provide to AIIC Switzerland, AIIC, other national regions of AIIC and/or theirs partners through web forms or email, or in your use of the Website; for example, when you subscribe to the newsletter of AIIC Switzerland, log-in to the Website, publish a blog post.

3.2       Such information includes: your name; company name, if applicable; user name; password; date of birth; gender; work language; address; email; telephone and fax numbers; resume; social profile; webpages; profile picture; and any other information which AIIC Switzerland and/or its partners may request from you.

4. Processing Methods

AIIC Switzerland may process your personal data by automated means, but takes appropriate security measures in this respect.

4.1       AIIC Switzerland takes the appropriate technical and organizational security measures to prevent the unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, alteration or destruction of your personal data. Data processing is carried out using computers or computer software and in compliance with the purposes indicated in this Privacy Policy.

4.2       AIIC Switzerland does not use any individual decision-making based solely on automated processing, including profiling mechanisms on the Websites.

5. Purposes of Data Processing

AIIC Switzerland processes your personal data to operate the Website.

5.1       Your personal data are collected so that AIIC Switzerland may operate the Website in accordance with the circumstances, or in the manner expressly indicated when the personal data concerned are collected. For example, AIIC Switzerland collects data to allow you to navigate and use the Websites more easily, or to identify you and assist you in accessing relevant information on returning to the Website.

AIIC Switzerland may process your personal data to provide you with its newsletter and provide you with further news and updates.

AIIC Switzerland may process your personal data and special categories of data (also called “sensitive data”) to allow you to be displayed in AIIC’s worldwide and public directory as well as in the directory of AIIC Switzerland.

5.3       In certain sections of the Website, AIIC Switzerland may allow specific details of any AIIC Switzerland member who is registered to be displayed in its public directory or those of AIIC or other AIIC regions. This directory allows a multi-criteria research of AIIC Switzerland interpreters, in particular with the interpreter’s address or location, working languages and other data which may directly or indirectly reveal the ethnic or “racial“ origin of the data subject, which are considered special categories of data (also called “sensitive data”), whereby the use of the term ‘racial origin’ in this Privacy Policy is made solely in reference to the terminology used in applicable data protection laws and does not imply an acceptance by AIIC Switzerland of theories which attempt to determine the existence of separate human races. By filling in any directory form, by responding to any AIIC Switzerland inquiry related thereto, and/or using the Website for the purpose of being listed within the directory of AIIC Switzerland or another related directory, you explicitly agree to such use of your personal data.

AIIC Switzerland may process your personal data when you publish a post in the dedicated blog of AIIC Switzerland.

5.4       In a certain section of the Website, AIIC Switzerland may process your personal data to allow you to publish a post in its dedicated blog.

AIIC Switzerland processes your personal data for statistical and planning purposes.

5.5       Notably without limitation, AIIC processes your personal data to improve the Website and for internal analyses and statistics. You may withdraw your consent at any time.

AIIC Switzerland may disclose your personal data to third parties in case this is necessary for the proper operation of the Website or as listed below.

6.1       AIIC Switzerland may communicate your personal data to AIIC or to third parties as part of operating the Websites subcontractors such as IT systems providers, cloud service providers, database providers and consultants., in particular: Metanet, Amazon Web Services Inc., Gravatar. As the case may be, an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. 6.2       AIIC Switzerland may also enable you to use third-party services directly from the Websites, namely through social plug-ins; in which case you recognize that the third-party operators of these services may access some of your personal data in connection with the Websites.

6.3       AIIC Switzerland may disclose your personal data to AIIC or other national regions as part of its activities, for instance for the management of AIIC worldwide and public directory as well as in the directory of AIIC Switzerland. We stress that, the information published in such directories is public and may thus be viewed by other people.

6.4       AIIC Switzerland may disclose your personal data to any third party to whom AIIC Switzerland assigns or transfers any of AIIC’s rights or obligations.
